ELAI goes Hong Kong

From November 30 to December 2, the Hong Kong Educational Research Association (HKERA) holds an international conference on ‘Innovation, Reform and Education Change in a Contemporary World’ at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). In cooperation with the World Education Research Association (WERA) the conference aims to give education practitioners, researchers and policy-makers throughout the globe an invaluable platform for interesting and stimulating discussions and exchange of research-based knowledge, so as to stay vibrant and work strategically for the promotion of innovation, reform and education change in the new era.

Tim Hoff, PhD Candidate at University of Hamburg and co-founder of the European Liberal Arts Initiative (ELAI), will speak at the conference about ‘Liberal (Arts) Education in Europe. An innovative approach to undergraduate education’. Based on his findings from his ongoing PhD thesis, Tim will analyse the reasons and aims behind the unprecedented (re-)emergence of liberal arts programmes at European Universities and colleges. The aims of the presentation include an overview of the highly diverse European liberal arts landscape, its plausible future development and proliferation.
