If you are interested in meeting fellow travellers in Europe in 2019, ELAI has compiled for you a list of conferences and academic gatherings of less formal type devoted to liberal education, in one sense or the other. This list would be updated if more relevant events are announced in due course. The list does not distinguish between ‘student’ and ‘adults’ events, as the boundaries are at times porous, but we have tried our best to provide enough information for you to decide if you want to know more - you know where to click.

This bi-annual conference engages with Core Texts and Great Books perspectives on liberal education discussed between European and US participants. A volume from the first conference was published, and ELAI published a short post after the second edition in Winchester.|

|GALA's 2019 conference "Networks across Time and Space"||2019/09/12-14||Claremont Graduate University, CA, USA||Claremont Graduate University will host the 6th Annual GALA conference dedicated to the theme of networks. At its core, GALA represents the partnering of universities, faculty, and students together in a number of different networks of communication, research, idea exploration and teaching. In its sixth year, this conference will assess these networks and examine their value as a cornerstone in the development of liberal arts education. We encourage panels, workshops, papers and roundtable discussions that probe the nature and value of these networks, offer prospective calls for future networks and even explore the success and failure of networks past and present.
